Four appliances and a high-reach vehicle were called to a two-storey house at Balmaise in Leven at around 12.55pm on Tuesday.
The blaze affecting a first-floor bedroom was put out, and there were no reported injuries.
One appliance remains at the scene.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 12.55pm on Tuesday, July 28, to reports of a dwelling fire at Balmaise in Leven, Fife.
“Operations Control initially mobilised two fire appliances to the scene. As the incident developed, the response was increased to four fire appliances and a high reach vehicle.
“Crews worked to extinguish a fire affecting a first-floor bedroom within a two-storey property.
“There were no reported casualties, and one fire appliance remains at the scene to damp down hotspots.”
