Fire crews extinguish blaze which broke out at former hotel

Emergency services were called around 5pm on Tuesday to a fire within the former Royal Hotel in Bridge of Allan.

Fire crews have extinguished a blaze which broke out at a former hotel in Stirling.

Emergency services were called around 4.56pm on Tuesday to a fire within the former Royal Hotel in Bridge of Allan.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent four appliances and a height appliance to the scene at the derelict building.

The fire was put out, and no casualties were reported.

The hotel has lain empty since 2020 after plans for redevelopment were later scrapped.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 4.56pm on Tuesday, October 28, to reports of a fire within a derelict building on Henderson Street in Bridge of Allan.

“Operations Control mobilised four fire appliances and a height appliance to the area, and the fire was extinguished.

“There were no casualties, and crews left the scene after ensuring the area was safe.”
