Fire crews were called to a city centre street in Edinburgh on Tuesday following reports of a burning smell.
Emergency services were alerted to reports of a fire affecting a building on Castle Street at around 8.38am.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) dispatched three appliances to the site as well as a height vehicle.
Crews remain at the scene as they investigate a burning smell.
There have been no reported casualties.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 8.38am on Tuesday, January 28, to reports of a building fire on Castle Street, Edinburgh.
“Operations Control mobilised three appliances and one height vehicle to the scene where firefighters work to investigate a smell of burning.
“There were no reported casualties, and crews remain in attendance.”
