A woman from Fife says she “can’t stop crying” after her “vulnerable” fiancé disappeared in Turkey.

Chyvonne Petch and her family travelled to Izmir from Rosyth to undergo life-changing surgery alongside her partner Damian Carroll.

The 36-year-old was last seen and heard from on Saturday. His phone has remained off since then.

Chyvonne hoped that Damian would be waiting for her at the hospital on Monday as she underwent a check-up before flying home.

However, Damian did not appear. Chyvonne sent the 36-year-old his plane ticket, hoping he would meet them at the airport.

The family arrived at the airport on Monday, but Damian didn’t appear. Chyvonne had to return home to continue her recovery following a long surgical procedure.

Detention centres have been checked in the region but he is yet to be found. Chyvonne believe Damian, who is originally from Liverpool, has no access to money.

Chyvonne told STV News: “I’m very concerned. I’m crying all the time

“I just don’t know where he is. He hasn’t been online or anything.

“I’ve been constantly checking but there is nothing. He is a very vulnerable man.

“I’m worried that he might be hurt, I just can’t stop crying.”

The UK Foreign Office has confirmed it is in contact with authorities regarding the search.

An FCDO spokesperson said: “We are supporting the family of a British man in Turkey.”
