An investigation is under way after a 30-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries.

A property in Fife was raided on Sunday following the attempted murder of a man.

The investigation was launched after a 30-year-old man was transferred to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries on Saturday.

The following day, at 1.40pm, officers executed a warrant at an address in the Main Street area of Lochgelly. Police were also in attendance at Buller Street.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.40pm on Sunday, July 20, officers executed a warrant at a property in the Main Street area of Lochgelly after an injured man attended at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy.

“The 30-year-old man had sustained a serious injury and was transferred to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh on Saturday, July 19, for further treatment. The incident is being treated as attempted murder.

“Police also attended Buller Street in connection with the incident. 

“No one has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
