A woman has died, and a man is in hospital following a three-vehicle crash in Fife.
The crash occurred on the A92 near the Luthrie junction north of Cupar around 1am on Sunday, October 4.
It involved three vehicles: a white Audi A3, a grey Volvo V40, and a white Honda HRV.
Emergency services attended, however, the 24-year-old female passenger of the Audi was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Audi, a 27-year-old man, was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment.
Police confirmed there were no other injuries.
The road was closed to allow enquiries to be carried out and was reopened around 12am on Monday, October 5.
Sergeant William Low said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has died at this difficult time.
“We are carrying out extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances of this crash and we are appealing to any witnesses to come forward.
“Anyone who was driving around the time of the incident, and anyone with relevant dash-cam footage which may assist is asked to contact police.”
