The family of an 11-year-old girl have described her as “happy, adventurous and outgoing” after she was found dead in water at a Midlothian park.
Faith Curran’s body was found in the Gore Water area near to Shank Bridge around 4.25pm on Thursday.
A search was launched after her family reported her missing in the area earlier that day at around 12.40pm.
The 11-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene and her family are aware.
Police say the death is being treated as unexplained; however, there are not believed to be suspicious circumstances.
In a tribute, her family described Faith as a “happy, adventurous, and outgoing girl who enjoyed life”.
They thanked those who assisted them with their search, for their support and kindness and asked that their privacy is respected.
A Police Scotland statement read: “Enquiries remain ongoing and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
