The family of a man who was allegedly murdered at a property in Edinburgh have made a plea to bring his body home.
Elvis Palla died after emergency services were called to a property on Watson Crescent at around 6.10am on Saturday, December 13.
Christos Nikiforidis appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court in December, charged with Mr Palla’s murder.
He made no plea and was remanded in custody to appear before the court again.
The family of the 34-year-old, who is originally from Greece, have raised more than £9,500 in a bid to repatriate his body.
They said they are “heartbroken and searching for answers” following his death.
In a post on the GoFundMe, they wrote: “Elvis was the only child of his parents, their pride, their hope, and the centre of their world.
“He had already booked his ticket to return home on December 13, to be reunited with his family. We were waiting for him, full of hope and anticipation.
“Instead, we received the devastating news that no family should ever have to hear.
“During this incredibly difficult time, our family is facing not only overwhelming emotional pain but also significant financial burdens.
“We are seeking support to help cover the cost of transporting Elvis’s body back to his homeland, so he can be laid to rest with dignity among his loved ones.”
