The family of a man missing from Edinburgh for six months have been made aware of a body find in a quarry.
Police confirmed the discovery of a body at the disused quarry in Edinburgh on Sunday.
Officers say formal identification of the body is still to take place however the family of 36-year-old Stuart Campbell have been informed.
In September, the mother of Stuart Campbell appealed for information after her son went missing in March this year.
She said: “I know everything that could have been done has been done, but I am not giving up on finding him.”
In a statement, police said: “Police in Edinburgh can confirm that the body of a man has been found at a disused quarry on Torphin Road, Edinburgh, around 12.50pm on Sunday, November 6, 2022.
“Formal identification has yet to take place, but the family of 36-year-old Stuart Campbell missing since Tuesday, March 22, has been made aware.
“The death is being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
