'Serious' road crash forces closure of A92 in both directions

The road is closed in both directions and emergency services are in attendance.

Emergency services attend serious crash as major road A92 closed near Kirkcaldy Google Maps

A major road in Fife is closed in both directions after a serious road crash on Monday afternoon.

The crash occurred at around 2.20pm on March 13 on the A92 between the Bankhead and Redhouse roundabouts near Kirkcaldy.

The road is closed in both directions and emergency services are in attendance.

Motorists have been warned to expect longer than normal journeys and have been advised to use an alternative route. Local diversions are in place.

There is currently no information available about any injuries as a result of the crash.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.20pm, police received a report of a serious road crash on the A92 near Kirkcaldy involving two cars. 

“Emergency services are on the scene. The carriageway is closed between Bankhead Roundabout and Redhouse Roundabout.”

A Traffic Scotland update said: “The A92 between Redhouse and Bankhead Roundabouts is currently closed in both directions due to a road traffic incident. 

“Road users are advised to use an alternative route at this time.”
