An elderly man who died following a crash between a car and a van has been named by police.
Emergency services were called to the A75 at Gretna around 11.10am on December 16 following reports of a collision involving a black Peugeot 3008 and a white Ford Transit van.
Jackson Pringle, who was driving the Peugeot, was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital with serious injuries. The 83-year-old died the following day.
Three other men, aged 77, 60 and 31, were also taken to hospital as a precaution.
Sergeant Colin Ramage said: “Our thoughts remain with Mr Pringle’s family and friends at this very difficult time.
“Our enquiries are ongoing, and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to get in touch with us.
“In particular, if you were driving in the area at the time, please check your dash-cam footage to see if you captured anything that could assist our investigation.”
Those with information are urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident 1097 of December 16.
