An 82-year-old man has been charged in connection with a fatal crash which caused the deaths of two pensioners in November.
Henry Keith Holme, 90, and Janette Tait, 79, were killed following a collision between a blue Ford Fiesta and a silver Honda Jazz at around 3.25pm on Saturday, November 26 2022 on the A7, between Galashiels and Selkirk.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene following the crash.
The families of the two pensioners previously paid tribute to the grandmother and grandfather.
The family of Mr Holmes, a pharmacist from Melrose, said he will be “dearly missed” following the crash.
They said: “Henry Keith Holme, known as Keith, was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
“He will be sorely missed by his family and the community he served in Galashiels for over 30 years as a pharmacist at Holme’s The Chemist.”
Mrs Tait’s family have said the late pensioner will be missed by her family and friends, including her three grandchildren.
A statement read: “Janette Tait will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. She was a loving wife and mother and was a wonderful grandmother to her three grandchildren.”
Police Scotland said that a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
