Edinburgh's Cowgate area closed due to 'concern for a person'

Edinburgh’s Cowgate area has been closed due to reports of concern for a person.

Emergency services were called to the incident at around 7.50pm on Friday.

Members of the public are urged to avoid the area at this time.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Cowgate, Edinburgh is closed due to a report of concern for a person.

“Please avoid the area.”
