A prisoner in Edinburgh who escaped custody while attending a family funeral has been found, police confirm.
Officers launched a search for 29-year-old Jamie Ross after he went missing at around lunchtime on Tuesday April 23.
It is understood he had been at a family funeral at Mortonhall crematorium.
The appeal was launched to help trace Ross, who police said had links to the south of the Capital and Aberdeen.
The force said: “Jamie Ross, 29, reported missing from Edinburgh, has been traced safely.
“Thank you to everyone who shared and responded to our appeal.”
GEOAmey, the prison transportation service, previously said it was “disappointing” that the the funeral was used as an opportunity to escape.
