Edinburgh Christmas Market 'most stunning in the UK', study finds

A new social media study has found that Edinburgh’s Christmas market is considered the “most stunning” in the UK.

The market in Scotland’s capital draws millions of visitors every year with its selection of food stalls, bars and attractions.

UK-based printing company Solopress has also found Edinburgh to be the “most captivating” city in the UK and Europe.

A new social-media driver study from the company ranked over 60 of the most celebrated markets using platforms like Instagram and TikTok.

Edinburgh took the top spot, competing against Winter WonderLand in Hyde Park, London, and Machester’s Christmas Market.

The company based its rankings on which markets captivate visitors but also underscored the importance of creating shareable, memorable experiences that make an impact both in person and online.

Edinburgh’s Christmas markets took the top spot as the UK’s “most stunning” market, with 2,738 TikTok posts and 55,304 Instagram hashtags capturing its charm.

From November 15 until January 4, 2025, East Princes Garden will host several stalls featuring products from local and international vendors.

Solopress said the market offers ample opportunity for visitors to “capture memorable holiday photos against the iconic backdrop of Edinburgh Castle and the festive scenes at Princes Street Gardens”.

The city’s Big Wheel, festive ice rink, and traditional Scottish food stalls have proved popular with visitors.
