The countdown to the festive season has begun as Edinburgh’s Christmas Market is set to return to the capital.
Edinburgh will soon transform into a festive wonderland with an ice rink, fairground games and sparkling lights.
East Princes Garden will host a number of stalls featuring products from local and international vendors.
The highly anticipated Christmas celebrations are a major draw for tourists, who come from around the world to see the city sparkle during the festive period.
There are a host of attractions and events taking place throughout the capital, some of which are discounted for residents with an EH postcode.
When is Edinburgh’s Christmas Market 2024?
Edinburgh Christmas Markets will open from Friday, November 15 and will continue until January 4, 2025.

Ice Rink
The ice rink will open to the public from November 22 until January 4, 2025.
The ticketed attraction can be found on West George Street between Castle Street and Charlotte Square.
Prices for skating sessions begin from £14.50.
Santa’s Stories
Santa Claus and his elves will be entertaining families with stories and gifts in St Andrew Square from November 23 to December 24.
Ticket prices start from £6.
Christmas Tree Maze
One of the UK’s largest illuminated Christmas Tree walks is located in St Andrews Square, and tickets start from £5.
The maze will run from November 23 to December 24.
The Polar Ice Bar
New to the festivities is Hamilton’s Ice Bar.
Crafted from recycled rain water, the cold bar experience will run from November 25 to January 4.
Tickets start from £14.
Swamplesque
This burlesque and drag parody show, inspired by Scotland’s favourite Ogre, will run from December 5 to January 4.
Tickets to the show start from £19.
The Bubble Show
The interactive show, led by Guinness World Record Holder Highland Joker, will run from December 5 until January 4.
Tickets for the hour long show start from £14.
