An Edinburgh care worker has been struck off after he was convicted of creating indecent images of children.

Mike Forrester was found guilty of both creating and possessing indecent images of children between November 2, 2021 and December 13, 2021.

The social care worker failed to mention that he was charged with the offences in his application to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) on June 10, 2022.

Forrester was convicted on February 5, 2025.

The SSSC stated the care worker’s actions showed a “very serious disregard” for the systems in place to “protect vulnerable people”.

The report read: “Social care workers are expected to behave in a way, both inside and outside of work that would not call into question their suitability to work with the most vulnerable people.

“Your possession and processing of indecent images of children raises very serious concerns about your
values and attitudes.”
