Police have launched an investigation into the discovery of a body near a major Scottish road.
Forensic teams cordoned off woodland near between the Edinburgh City Bypass and Edinburgh Park on Monday morning following the find.
Officers are currently treating the circumstances surrounding the death as “unexplained,” but said early enquiries were under way.
A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal in the meantime.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police were made aware of a body found in a wooded area between the Edinburgh City Bypass and Edinburgh Park area around 10am on Monday, September 25.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.
“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
