Edinburgh Airport has been fined £80,000 after a pensioner died when he fell from a lift designed to take disabled passengers from the plane to the ground.
James Young fell around five feet while being transported on the airport ambulift in November 2023.
The 81-year-old was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary but passed away eight days later.
The incident prompted an investigation a joint investigation by Police Scotland and the Health and Safety Executive.
The airport was handed a fine at the Sheriff Court in Edinburgh which was reduced from £120,000 due to an early guilty plea.
