An easyJet flight was met by emergency services on a Scottish airport runway after reporting a “technical issue” on Thursday.
Flight EZY316 from London Gatwick to Edinburgh issued a squawk 7700 prior to landing just after 9pm, which triggered an emergency response on the ground.
The cause of the technical issue is not yet known.
An easyJet spokesperson said: “Flight EZY316 from London Gatwick to Edinburgh performed a routine go-around due to a technical issue before landing normally, in line with procedures and the aircraft was met by emergency services as a precaution only.
“The safety of our customers and crew is our highest priority and easyJet operates its fleet of aircraft in strict compliance with all manufacturers’ guidelines.”
