The restrictions have been put in place from 5pm on Monday until 1am on Tuesday for security and public safety, police said.

Officers say it will be an offence for any unmanned aircraft to fly below 2,000ft above sea level and within one nautical mile of Edinburgh Castle.

The restrictions include drones, officers said.
