Police were called to the scene on the motorway on Monday afternoon.

Traffic was tailed back on the M8 on Monday afternoon after a car fire and oil spillage.

Police were called to the scene of the incident near Junction 3A-3 on the M8 off the village of Newbridge.

The road was restricted eastbound while emergency services worked at the scene with delays of approximately ten minutes between 1pm and 2.40pm.

The road has since been cleared with delays in the eastbound direction easing.

Police say there were no injuries as a result of the incident.
