One person is in hospital following a single-vehicle crash on the M9 between Newbridge and Linlithgow.
Officers were called to the scene approximately one mile away from the motorway’s junction two, at around 9.15am on Thursday.
Images on social media appeared to show a van was involved in the crash.
Police said the driver has been taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious injuries.
The road has been closed between junction four and junction two, with enquiries ongoing.
Officers are appealing for witnesses and in particular anyone who may have dashcam footage.
