A 73-year-old man is in a “serious” condition in hospital after a two-car crash on the A9.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a two-vehicle crash occurred on Stirling Road in Larbert at around 1.40pm on Wednesday, February 21.

A Peugeot 3008, driven by the man, was involved in a crash with a Nissan Qashqai being driven by a 61-year-old woman.

Emergency services responded to the scene about a quarter of a mile east of Lochlands Avenue.

Both drivers were taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital, with medical staff describing the condition of the man as serious but stable.

The woman was later released as police say the road was closed and reopened about 3pm.
