One person has been left in hospital after an ambulance on an emergency call collided with a car at a junction in Falkirk.
Emergency services were called to reports of a two-vehicle crash on Ladysmill Road at its junction with Thornhill Road at around 10am on Friday.
The driver of the Volvo car was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital, where their condition remains unknown.
The crew and student paramedic onboard the ambulance were not injured as a result of incident, the Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) confirmed.
A SAS spokesperson added that the ambulance, which was on its way to an emergency call when the crash occurred, was not transporting any patients.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 10.14am on Friday, February 3, to reports of a collision involving two vehicles near Ladysmill, Falkirk.
“Operations control immediately mobilised two appliances to the location to support emergency service partners but firefighters were not required and left the scene after ensuring the area was safe.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10am on Friday, February 3, police were called to a two-vehicle road crash involving an ambulance and a Volvo car on Ladysmill Road at its junction with Thornhill Road, Falkirk.
“The driver of the Volvo has been taken by ambulance to Forth Valley Hospital. No reports of any injuries to ambulance personnel.
“The road was closed to allow removal of vehicle and enquiries are ongoing in to the circumstances surrounding the crash.”
