A man has died in a single-vehicle crash near a shopping centre in Edinburgh.
Emergency services were called to a collision on Gyle Avenue on Monday at around 11.10am near the Gyle shopping centre.
A critical care paramedic and a special operations response team were sent to the scene.
The driver, a 58-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.10am on Monday, February 16, 2026, we were called to a crash involving one vehicle on Gyle Avenue, Edinburgh.
“Emergency services attended, and the driver, a 58-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 11.06am to attend a road traffic collision on Gyle Avenue, Edinburgh.
“We dispatched an ambulance, a critical care paramedic (CCP), and a special operations response team (SORT) to the scene.”
A statement from the centre said all stores remain open as normal.
