A man has died following a single-vehicle road crash in Stirling.

Andrew Black, 57, was the driver and sole occupant of a black Vauxhall Astra when it crashed on the A9 Bannockburn Road at its junction with Braehead Road at around 10pm on Monday.

Mr Black, from Tullibody in Clackmannanshire, was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

His next of kin have been made aware and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Sergeant David Marr said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Black’s family and friends at this time.

“We are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances which led to this collision. 

“Anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam footage is asked to contact police.”
