Driver in hospital after being seriously injured in crash

Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash that took place on Friday night.

A man has been seriously injured in a crash near Falkirk.

The incident happened at around 10.20pm on Friday while the Mini Cooper was travelling east on Vellore Road, near to Almond Road, Maddiston.

The driver was taken by ambulance to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he remains for treatment.

Medical staff describe his condition as serious but stable.

The 44-year-old was the sole occupant of the car.

Sergeant Jill Kirkpatrick said: “We are looking to speak to anyone who may have any information relating to this crash.

“The 44-year-old man has suffered serious injuries are we are asking for assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

“If anyone has any information or possible dashcam footage that could help, please get in contact with officers.”
