A dog has been seized by police after attacking two people in Penicuik.

Officers were called to reports of an out-of-control dog in the Eskbridge area around 11.30am on March 20.

Two men, aged 22 and 33, sustained minor injuries that required medical treatment.

A dog was also injured and had to be taken to the vet.

Police traced the out of control dog to a nearby property and charged a 57-year-old man in connection with the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.30am on Thursday, March 20, we received a report of a dog out of control in the Eskbridge area of Penicuik.

“Two people and another dog were injured. A 22-year-old man and a 33-year-old man sustained minor injuries that required medical treatment. The dog was taken to a vet for treatment.

“Officers traced the dog at a nearby property. It was seized and taken to kennels.

“A 57-year-old man has been charged in connection with the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
