A dog has been reunited with its owner after taking a solo bus ride in Edinburgh.

The pup was spotted by Lothian Buses drivers boarding the number 16 on Commercial Street in Leith after 10am on Monday before being reunited with his owner later the same day.

Bus staff handed the dog into St Leonard’s Police Station to be looked after by officers before his owner collected him.

A Lothian Buses post on X read: “This gorgeous wee pup ended up on a Service 16 on Commercial Street this morning at approximately 10am.

“He’s been safely delivered to the team at St Leonard’s Police Station who are looking after him.

“Please like and share to help reunite him with his human.”

A later update read: “We understand he has been reunited with his owner.”
