The death of a man found in a property in West Lothian on Thursday is being treated as unexplained.

Emergency services were called to Perth Street, Livingston, after the alarm was raised at around 4.15pm.

The body of a 54-year-old man was discovered inside.

Detectives are currently treating the incident as unexplained and a post-mortem is due to be carried out.

An investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 4.15pm on Thursday, June 4, 2026, the body of a 54-year-old man was discovered within a property in Perth Street, Livingston.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.

“A postmortem examination will be carried out in due course, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
