A DVD of the reality show Dance Moms has been seized from a cell in the sex offenders wing of HMP Edinburgh.
Prison staff discovered and removed the copy of the TV programme, which follows the training and careers of children in dance and show business across the US.
The series, which debuted in 2011, followed the Abby Lee Dance Company and a group of young girls aged between six and 13 as they competed in competitions across the country.

Following the discovery of the DVD within the wing, Police Scotland was alerted, and an investigation to establish any criminality was launched.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Enquiries are being carried out to establish if any criminality has taken place after a DVD was removed from a cell at a prison in Edinburgh.”
A Scottish Prison Service spokesperson added: “This DVD was removed and, as this is now subject to police investigation, it would be inappropriate to comment further.”
