STV NewsFirefighters are continuing their efforts to extinguish a blaze on Arthur’s Seat that broke out on Sunday.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire affecting an area of grass at the landmark around 6.40pm.
Six fire engines and specialist resources were sent to the scene at the height of the incident.
As of Tuesday morning, two fire engines remain in the area with firefighters continuing to dampen down hotspots.
STV NewsThere are no reported casualties, and the public is being asked to avoid the area.
Police Scotland confirmed Queens Drive remains closed, and the public should continue to avoid the area and the surrounding area.
Area commander David Dourley, SFRS local senior officer for City of Edinburgh, said: “We ask the public to please avoid the area and remind them that road closures are in place.
“We also urge people to remain vigilant during this hot spell of weather, and we thank them for their understanding.”
