An alleged thief reported to have fled a home into a nearby field was “detained” by cattle until police arrived and arrested him.
The 45-year-old is said to have been caught by a homeowner in their conservatory before making an escape into the “wrong field” on Thursday morning.
Police in Edinburgh said local cows “kept him detained until officers arrived and arrested him”.
The incident happened by Riccarton Mains Road and was reported at around 6.35am.
The man is due to appear in court on Saturday, June 4.
