Cow dead and two taken to hospital after crash near racing circuit

A cow has died and two people were taken to hospital after a crash near a racing circuit in Fife.

Emergency services were called to the A823, near Knockhill Racing Circuit, after receiving reports of a crash between a cow and a car at around 6.25pm on Tuesday.

Two people were taken to hospital, but have since been discharged.

Police confirmed the cow died at the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.25pm on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, police were called to a report of a collision involving a cow and a car on the A823 near Knockhill Racing Circuit around 6.25pm on Tuesday, 6 February.

“Two people were taken to the local hospital but have since been discharged.

“The cow died at the scene. Enquiries are complete. No further police action.”
