Chip shop goes up in flames as firefighters battle blaze

Firefighters were called to a blaze at a chip shop after it caught fire.

Emergency services were called to K&K Fish Bar in the Leslie area of Glenrothes at around 3pm following reports of a fire.

Four fire engines were sent to the premises on the High Street, and the blaze was extinguished.

Crews left the scene at around 9.30pm, and no injuries were reported.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 3pm on Wednesday, December 3, to reports of a fire within a commercial premises in Leslie, Glenrothes.

“Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the town’s High Street, where firefighters extinguished the fire and worked to make the area safe before leaving the scene around 9.30pm.

“There are no reported casualties.”
