A man is being sought by police in connection with a serious assault at a nightclub in Edinburgh city centre last year.

Officers from the capital say they are desperate to trace the man over the incident at The Hive on Niddry Street in the early hours of the morning on September 10, 2021.

A CCTV image has been released as part of the probe, with investigators keen to speak to the man pictured as soon as possible.

He is described as being white with a medium build and short hair and is thought to be aged in his early 30’s.

Images taken shortly after 1.35am show him wearing a baseball cap, light coloured t-shirt or polo shirt and shorts at the time of the incident.

He is also understood to have a tattoo sleeve on his right arm and a second tattoo on his calf.

Detective constable Craig Moran, of Edinburgh CID, said: “I would urge the man, or anyone who has information relating to him to make contact with the police.”

DC Moran added: “Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0205 of Friday, September 10, 2021, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be passed anonymously.”
