A social care worker has been struck off after being found guilty of assaulting a vulnerable woman in her care and a police officer.
Jill Fyffe was also convicted of failing to take a breathalyser test while in charge of a car on two occasions after being requested to by police.
Fyffe was charged with repeatedly punching the body and head of an 80-year-old woman in her care on April 22, 2020.
On the same day, she failed to cooperate with a roadside breath test and assaulted an officer by kicking him “on the body”.
Fyffe also refused to provide a breath sample when taken to a Dundee police station.
She was convicted of the four offences at Perth Sherriff Court on February 19, 2024.
A report by the Scottish Social Services Council found that the incidents had shown “a loss of self-control and violated the fundamental tenets of the profession”.
The regulator found that Fyffe had shown a “lack of insight, remorse, and remediation,” and as a result, the risk of her behaviour being repeated was high.
The council implemented a removal order after no appeal was made.
Fyffe was struck off on November 13, 2024.
