A car was found “well alight” after bursting into flames on a busy Fife road during rush hour on Monday morning.

Shortly after 8.30am on February 20, emergency services were alerted to a car on fire on the A915 at Standing Stane Road in Dysart.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) mobilised one appliance to the scene where one car was on fire.

Firefighters at the scene extinguished the flames and there were no reported casualties as a result.

A SFRS spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 8.36am on Monday, February 20, to reports of a car on fire on the A915, Standing Stane Road.

“Operations Control mobilised one appliance to the scene where firefighters extinguished one car which was well alight.

“There were no reported casualties. 

“Crews left the scene at 9.18am after ensuring the area was made safe.”

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.
