An investigation has been launched after a barn was deliberately set on fire for a second time in the Scottish Borders.
Emergency services were called to the blaze at a barn building near Sharplaw Road, Jedburgh, at around 8.15pm on Saturday.
Officers said the fire was extinguished and there were no injuries, however a car and quad bike were extensively damaged.
The incident is being treated as wilful along with a similar fire at the same address, which took place around 8.20pm on September 23, 2025.
Police Scotland is urging anyone with information regarding the fires to come forward.
Detective constable Carmichael said: “Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish more details on the exact circumstances surrounding these fires and why the farm building has been targeted twice.
“Luckily no-one has been injured, however the consequences could have been much more serious.
“I’d also like to ask drivers with dash-cams who were travelling on Sharplaw Road or in Jedburgh itself on the evening of September 23 and 27 to please review their footage, as they may have captured something which would assist our investigation.
“If you were in the area on Tuesday or Saturday evening and saw anything suspicious or out of the ordinary, please come forward.
“If you have any information that may assist our investigation, please call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 3102 of September 27. Alternatively, please contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
