A bar has stepped in to support local musicians following the closure of a popular jazz bar in Edinburgh.
Brewhemia announced that they have devised a new weekly line-up of talent that will see musicians from The Jazz Bar play seven days a week.
It comes after popular venue the Jazz Bar closed its doors for good, stating on their website that the cost of living crisis coupled with operational challenges “proved too much” to carry on running.
Located on Chambers Street, The Jazz Bar had been a hub for Jazz fans and performers since it first opened in 2005.
Carrie Beattie, entertainment director at Brewhemia, said she “recognised the importance of preserving Edinburgh’s rich musical heritage and extending a lifeline of sorts to the city’s talented musicians”.
Ms Beattie added they were encouraging any musicians affected by the closure of The Jazz Bar to reach out for more information on how to participate in the upcoming gigs.
“Brewhemia is a lively venue located in the heart of Edinburgh, dedicated to celebrating the best of Scottish culture, cuisine and live entertainment.
“With a passion for music and a commitment to supporting local talent, Brewhemia provides a platform for musicians to showcase their skills and delight audiences from near and far,” she said.
