A 12-year-old boy was left in hospital after being struck by a car outside a caravan park in Fife.

Emergency services were called to the A921, outside the Pettycur Bay Caravan Park in Kinghorn, after receiving reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a car at around 7.05pm on Sunday.

A 12-year-old boy was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.

His current condition is unknown at this stage.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 7.05pm on Sunday 16 July, to a report of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian on the A921 outside the Pettycur Bay Caravan Park in Kinghorn, Fife.

“Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a 12-year-old boy, was taken by ambulance to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

“The road was closed and re-opened around 9.50pm.”
