A “highly explosive” anti-tank rocket has been discovered at a house in Perth.
Ordnance disposal experts were called to an address on Wilson Street on Friday after the rocket was found.
A bomb technician removed an inert item from the scene for disposal.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence confirmed that an Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team responded to a request from Police Scotland to attend the scene.
They added: “The EOD Operator safely removed an inert Rocket 3.5in HE M28 from the scene for future destruction, no demolition occurred.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Friday, June 26, 2026, we received a report of possible ordnance found within a property on Wilson Street, Perth.
“EOD attended to check the item and removed it for disposal.”
According to the Directory of US Military Rockets and Missiles, the rocket was known as the 3.5-inch High-Explosive Anti-Tank Rocket, but was frequently called the “Super Bazooka” and used during the Korean War.
The launcher and rockets were phased out by the US Army in the early 1960s.
