A bodybuilder who was caught with videos of him raping a woman on his mobile phone has been jailed for nine years.
John Allen was sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow on Tuesday, having earlier been convicted of ten charges involving two traumatised women.
The 28-year-old filmed himself raping a woman before the screen went blank, and her screams could be heard. The video was later discovered on his phone by police.
Allen had denied the accusations – spanning six years – during a trial in Stirling in August.
He insisted any sexual contact was consensual.
The crimes occurred in Allen’s hometown of Denny in Stirlingshire.
Jurors had been shown at the trial two distressing videos of Allen raping one of the young women.
She also regularly suffered physical abuse, including being punched, dragged upstairs and stamped on.
In her evidence, the woman recalled: “I thought: ‘I am going to die, if I stay here’.”
He also made her hand over all her wages, forced her to stop using contraception, and bought her clothes that he “allowed” her to wear.
The court heard Allen lay in wait for the woman one night as she went to her vehicle.
He then jumped in the passenger seat – and with his face masked – the terrified victim initially believed she was being car-jacked.
She recalled: “He told me to put it in reverse and ‘f*****g drive’.”
The scared woman agreed to his demands – but then Allen tried to grab the steering wheel and move the car towards a building.
The victim managed to escape and get back to her nearby workplace.
Police were alerted and found Allen hiding in the back seat of the motor.
He was arrested and the sex attack videos were later discovered on his mobile phone.
Allen denied he had been physically or sexually violent to either woman.
He was found guilty of raping both women, attempting to rape one as well as assault.
Judge Fiona Tait also ordered Allen to be supervised for four years upon his release, in addition to the jail term.
She told Allen: “This has had a substantial impact (on the victims) and caused significant harm.”
Tony Lenehan KC, defending, said: “He maintains his position of innocence.”
Allen was put on the sex offenders list and further hit with non-harassment orders banning him from approaching or contacting either woman.
Both were for an indefinite period.
