Body of man discovered at beauty spot following 'sudden death'

Officers confirmed the man was pronounced dead at the scene after several personnel attended on Saturday afternoon.

The body of a man has been discovered at an East Lothian beauty spot, police have confirmed.

Officers were alerted to the “sudden death” of the 48-year-old at Tyninghame Beach near Dunbar on Saturday, July 16.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene at the busy coastline, but the man was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival.

There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death, however an investigation remains at an “early stage”.

The man’s next of kin have been informed.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers attended at Tyninghame Beach near Dunbar at around 4.20pm on Saturday, July 16, following the sudden death of a 48-year-old man.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
