A police cordon is in place near Edinburgh’s Royal Mile after the body of a man was found.
Emergency services were called to the scene at the capital’s Hunter Square at around 9.40am on Tuesday after reports of concern for a person.
Officers discovered the body of a man and a police cordon was put in place.
Police Scotland has said that the cause of death is still unknown and enquiries are ongoing.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Officers were called to a concern for person at Hunter Square, Edinburgh, at around 9.40am on Tuesday, 19 July 2022.
“The body of a man was found and enquiries to establish the cause of death are ongoing.”
