Body found on Kirkcaldy beach as police launch investigation

Police are investigating after a body was found on a beach in Kirkcaldy.

Emergency services raced to the Esplanade area of the Fife town after the alarm was raised at around 11am on Sunday December 28.

A large area of the seafront has been taped off after the discovery was made with officers remaining on scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11am on Sunday, 28 December, 2025, we received a report of a body being discovered in the Esplanade area of Kirkcaldy. 

“Officers are in attendance and enquiries are ongoing.”
