A body has been found in the search for a pensioner who had been missing overnight in freezing conditions.

Norma Sinclair was last seen around 6.15pm on Tuesday at the top of Townhill Road in Dunfermline.

The 71-year-old was wearing a grey padded knee-length coat with a full zip and fur-trimmed hood, along with leggings and beige Ugg boots.

Police confirmed that a body was found near Townhill Loch around 11.30am on Thursday.

Formal identification has still to take place but Norma’s family have been informed.

The death is not believed to be suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
