A body discovered in the River Tweed in the Scottish Borders has been identified as that of a woman reported missing over a month ago.
Police confirmed the body was found in the water near Lowood Bridge in Melrose on Sunday, September 25 around 12.20pm.
The body has now been formally identified as missing woman Michelle Pettie.
The 45-year-old had been missing since Saturday, September 3 from the Galashiels area.
An appeal to trace her was launched by Police Scotland after her family and friends grew increasingly concerned for her safety.
Police say the death is being treated as unexplained and investigations are ongoing.
