A body has been found in the search for a man missing from Glenrothes for almost a week.
Ross McLean, 34, had not been seen since Sunday, August 14, and an appeal was launched to locate him shortly afterwards.
Police confirmed the discovery near to Glenrothes at around 4.45pm on Friday.
Officers said formal identification was still to take place, however McLean’s family have been informed of the discovery.
A police spokesperson said: “At around 4.45pm on Friday, the body of a man was found near to Glenrothes. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“Formal identification has yet to take place, but the family of Ross have been informed.”
